Categories
The following list is to aide you in choosing the appropriate category for your website listing. We reserve the right to choose a different category if we feel it better belongs there.
- Blogs: Websites consisting of primarily a blog (weblog, journal). These sites usually utilize WordPress or Movable Type or are hosted on free blog sites such as Blogger, WordPress.com, Tumblr and LiveJournal. Individual, group, and photo blogs are welcome.
- Cliques: Cliques include clubs or support sites that allow people to join because of a common interest.
- Collectives: These sites are made to bring together a listing of the owner’s various websites. A collective has the owner’s website projects all in one place. Fanlisting collectives fit in this category.
- Directories: Directories/Listings similar to this one.
- Domains: A website URL that takes the form of .com, .org, .net, .me, .co.uk, .nu and the like. Domain redirects and subdomains do not fit into this category. Domains are paid for and owned independently. Domains that consist primarily of a blog, personal info, collective, portfolio, etc should go into the category it best fits. A domain that includes several of those categories can go here.
- Fanlistings: Fanlistings are dedicated to some type of tv show, charactor, actor, actress, movie, singer and the like. Their intended purpose is to bring together and list all of the fans of a particular interest. Fanlistings do not need to be “approved” by TheFanlistings.org.
- Fansites: These sites are dedicated to some type of TV show, charactor, actor, actress, movie, singer and the like. They contain diverse information, images, and interactive features that pertain to the media type theme of the site. Most are unofficial and in no way affiliated with the website’s topic.

- Personal: Websites where the owner shares personal information, photographs, or other things of a personal nature. These sites are “personalized” to be about the owner. Personal sites may include a blog (but it’s perhaps not the primary focus).
- Portfolios: Sites that showcase the owner’s talents in websites, graphics, art, photography, etc. Profile websites like Dribbble and DeviantArt would fit here.
