Nothing big going on with Glitter at the moment. We’re looking for a good WordPress plugin that’ll help with user registration spam. Thankfully you lovely visitors on the front-end don’t have to deal with any of that, but it gets a bit tedious having to sift through all the users and delete the spammers. I would just leave them be, but I’d rather not leave a door open for any security compromising. We already have “User Spam Remover” plugin (which doesn’t appear to be doing any good, as far as I can tell) and “Stop Spammers”. The latter is newly installed, so jury’s still out on its effectiveness.

As usual, submit your websites to be listed! If this is your first time to the new and improved Glitter, resubmit the links you had listed before. I know it’s a bit of a hassle to have to register, but you can log in and edit your listings at any time.

Big changes to Glitter!

We have decided to upgrade Glitter’s listing database and theme to WordPress! What this means for you:

New listing format! Instead of just a link and short description, listings will now have their own pages and include a screenshot and more room for longer descriptions.
You will need to resubmit your link(s). I know! Huge pain, but now that the directory has more options, you’ll get to plug in new data.
You will need to register to submit links. The great thing about this is you can update your listings at any time! One log-in and you can see what you have listed.
RSS subscription option with WordPress so you can be updated when there are updates to the Blog.
New theme design! Who doesn’t love something new to look at?

Glitter is now on Twitter! You can find the link in the sidebar to the left. Follow us! We’ll be posting updates for Glitter and recommended links and articles relating to web design and development. Plugging newly added websites (if their Twitter can be easily found). Mention @GlitterWebDir with your URL and we’ll retweet your plug!

Glitter is accepting affiliate requests! Web directories only. Your link will be placed in our footer throughout the site, as well as the Affiliates page.

Back and better than ever.

Hello, everyone! My sincerest apologies for neglecting Glitter for the past couple of years. Shannon and I have been busy and, somehow, Glitter fell through the cracks. Fear not! As you can see, Glitter has a new design. All of the pending links have been updated. I went through all the existing links about a week ago and got rid of all the dead or sketchy ones. I now have Glitter’s email set up to notify me every time there is an email, so I have no choice but to keep up! We are accepting new affiliate requests with web directories. I’ve been going through the content of each page and updating the copy in the interest of brevity and keeping info up-to-date. I’m excited to get things back to normal.

We have added 2 new categories! A subcategory under Blog called Microblog. And a category called Shops! Take a look at their descriptions and get your Twitter or Etsy shop listed!

Any suggestions or comments, please feel free to contact us. We will get back to you within a day or so!
