Glitter's general aim and purpose is to list as many sites as possible, so that visitors to the site may find sites they are looking for or may otherwise be interested in viewing/visiting. This directory also allows website owners to increase their "hits," or site traffic. Very few good web directories exist similar to Glitter — though many less successful or reliable directories have sprung up recently.
Glitter was originally created by Michelle in late April 2002. Michelle wanted to bring together a reliable, easily-accessible list of sites for others to browse through. All links here are monitored and checked semi-regularly, to ensure that as few broken or outdated links as possible remain in the directory. Sites containing what we might deem as inappropriate will not be listed here. (For example, Glitter has never, and will never list sites with pornography, warez, or "how to hack" information.)
Though the directory is now under the general care of Ang and Shannon, 99.9% of the praise should definitely go to Michelle.
